Our grooming salon offers a range of services including bathing, blow drying, clipping, scissoring, de-shedding, de-matting, hand stripping, "paw" d-cure, ear cleaning, teeth brushing and finishing spray.

You can drop your pet off during business hours, most appointments are one hour long, pending breed and fur condition of course, or we can keep them till closing time at no extra cost.  Once you have tried our award winning grooming we are pretty confident you won't want to go elsewhere.....bow wow.

At The Hounds Of Walkerville we take special care in grooming puppies to make sure it is a pawsitive experience.  All puppies are bathed with extra sensitive shampoo and time is taken to introduce them to the world of blow dryers, nail clippers and scissors, be sure to start bringing your puppy in for a wash and tidy up as soon as he or she is up to date on all vaccines.  Their first actual fur trimming should take place after 7 months as to give time for puppy fur to change to adult fur, but keep brushing and handling their paws in between appointments.

My Philosophy of dog obedience is that a dog can be trained to do anything that they can physically handle.  Start as soon as you get the puppy home with crate training, introduce socialization and keep on track with good manners.  Each pet should be considered a blank sheet of paper what you put down early stays forever like ink!  Some training objectives come easier then others, retrieving breeds tend to put everything in their mouth, working breeds train easier, but need a ton of exercise and stimulation, companion breeds are only breed for companionship and are prone to anxiety, hound breeds take longer to housetrain, and guard breeds protect, etc... choosing a breed suited for your family needs is the first step in the right direction.  Consult your veterinarian, breeder, trainer and groomer before taking the plunge, a dog is an important member of your family...remember there are no bad dogs...just lack of training on the owner's part!

September 18th, 2011,  Karen and "Clint" received high trial scores in tracking (100%), obedience (92%) and protection (96%) at The Windsor Schutzhund Club under SV Judge Helmutt Schlipp from Germany

October 22nd, 2011, Karen and "Clint" were awarded the High Obedience socre at Capital City,s Club trial under Canadian judge Lance Collins.
